DC General setup instructions

OK, so as jy hier is, is jy op die regte plek.

Click op "New". Hub Name = WUGDC Address = dchub.ctwug.za.net Nick = Piet Pompies Password = ******** Connection = Default

As jy baie probleme het met disconnections na die server toe, maak eers seker dat jou DNS reg werk. Ping 172.18.1.1 om seker te maak dit werk reg.

Now look for the "Settings" tab. Under "Connection Settings", make sure that your own PC IP address and the IP address under "Bind Address" and "External / WAN IP" match you PC IP. Fill in your details under "General". Make sure there is also something in the "Description" tab. Under the "Downloads" section is "Limits". Here you can set your amount of DL slots. (Max = 20) Select what you want to share under "Sharing". Under the "Upload slots" section is "Slots". Here you can set your amount of UL slots. (Max = 20)

Incorrect IP reported in Windows client

Note, this applies to the old WugDC client. The new client does not need this.

If you get the error Your client send incorrect IP in connection request, your real IP is 172.18.X.X and you have the DC hub as a favorite in the WUGDC application, it is possible your favorites.xml file has incorrect data in it. This seems to be due to a bug in the windows WugDC client.

Browse to the directory you put your WugDC.EXE file in and it will have created a sub directory called SETTINGS. Inside there you should find a file called Favorites.xml. Open the file with notepad or a similar text editor. Look for the IP field that looks like IP="something_here". If your email or part of your email address is in there and not the IP address of your wug interface, then you need to change it to look like IP="172.18.X.X" (you need to put your ip address in). Then save the favourites.xml file and make it read-only (right click the file, select properties, check "read-only" box) so the WugDC application does not overwrite it again with the wrong information.
