And then people wonder why they are not connectable (cannot upload) or why their DC won't work. It is also necessary in traceroutes and link-fault finding so that we can put a face (or rather nick) to an IP. We cannot expect every AP admin to make sure that all their clients dns hostnames are up and running. It is however the responsibility of AP's to make sure that their clients understand this issue. | |

Lately this page has been more and more needed since a lot of users do not have dns, or even worse - not having a node on wind at all. And then people wonder why they are not connectable (cannot upload) or why their DC won't work. It is also necessary in traceroutes and link-fault finding so that we can put a face (or rather nick) to an IP. We cannot expect every AP admin to make sure that all their clients dns hostnames are up and running. It is however the responsibility of AP's to make sure that their clients understand this issue.
