Client Nodes

Client Nodes (aka Basic nodes) are nodes that connects to 1 other node. (normally a relay node)

CTWUG users that only connect to highsite is an example of a Client Node.

Relay Nodes

Relay Nodes (aka Access Points / Transit Nodes ) connects to more than 1 node. Ideally it would connect to a Backbone Node and then relay (broadcast) the signal so that other Client Nodes can connect to it.

Examples of Relay Nodes

  • CTWUG Users that connects to a another CTWUG site and also have an interface that broadcasts. CTWUG Relay Nodes
  • CTWUG Highsites that have broadcasting interfaces and other clients connect to this highsite. CTWUG Highsites

Backbone Nodes

Backbone Nodes normally links other Relay Nodes together via high speed links. Backbone nodes normally have more than 1 highspeed link.
