What is CTWUG?

The Cape Town Wireless User Group is a non-profit organisation that is geared towards community based wireless networking. CTWUG was started in 2005 by a group of friends an has grown exponentially ever since - the user-base doubling every year.

Our aim is to promote the use and understanding of wireless equipment in order to build a city wide free wireless network. The building of this network forms a social and interactive community where growth and learning are promoted in the fields of wireless and information system technologies. The community upholds a strong passion for mentoring and teaching the new users on the network.

The network is absolutely free for anyone to join from anywhere in Cape Town – all you need to do is buy your kit to connect. We don't turn away anyone based on technical ability and we encourage you to connect and learn as much as you can.
